The 1st G100 Global AGM at the European Parliament

On June 12th, The European Parliament in Madrid played host to the first ever G100 Global Networking Annual Meeting, a gathering of thought leaders and institutional representatives, with the aim of tackling gender gaps and promoting inclusivity, safety, and the economic and social empowerment of women across the globe, led by Mar Introini, the Global Chair of G100 Global Networking.

G100 was founded by Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai as an empowered group of 100 women leaders from across the world, with the aim of promoting powerful advocacy, awareness & impact across governments and organisations for a gender equal future. 

The meeting's objectives aligned with the G100 vision of achieving gender parity within this decade, bringing together the G100 virtual platform and global chairs – of which I am proud to be one! - inviting them to engage in discussions with some very special guests.

There was an impressive line-up of speakers, each presenting their insights and expertise on crucial topics related to gender equity and female empowerment.

The Power of Networking featured discussions by Lilian Schiavo, National Chair G100 GN Brasil; Valeria Rodriguez Codina, WE Connect International; Susanna Cafaro, National Chair G100 GN Italy, among others. Their input stressed the importance of establishing connections to push forward the G100's cause.

Solidarity Beyond Institutions included Karen Duys, Global Chair G100 Scholarships & Internships, and several other national representatives. They addressed the role of solidarity in fostering change and promoting gender equity.

Sustainability and Entrepreneurship saw Sanja Popovic Pantic, Global Chair G100 Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, and other key national chairs discussing the importance of sustainable development and female entrepreneurship in the context of the G100 vision.

As is my forte, I led the wellness sessions, entitled "Time to Breathe and Relax," alongside my fellow wellness expert Ljiljana Burcul, Healing Art & Networking. We spoke about the importance of wellbeing and relaxation, teaching practical techniques attendees could take forward to use in their everyday lives.

This inaugural AGM was a roaring success, received positively by members of Parliament and other important stakeholders. It brought together members and important stakeholders, facilitating constructive discussion around inclusivity, gender equality, and women's economic empowerment – powerful topics. Continued cooperation and collaboration are vital to achieving the goals set by the G100 vision and this event laid the foundation for future success, by opening avenues for collaboration with the European Parliament and other institutions. By building on the success of this event, we are one step further towards a more inclusive, equal future for women around the world.

Furthermore, I am delighted to share that on Tuesday November 7th, I'll be speaking at Semana de la Ciencia de Madrid: Salud Mental, Mujer y Ciencia - translating as "Mental Health, Women and Science".

At this exciting event, organised by the Social Council of PAS Espana and co-organised by G100 Global Networking, we will be focusing on the crucial intersection of science, women, and mental health. We will highlight the significance of championing mental wellbeing and empowering women, something you know I’m passionate about!

In our society, we cannot overlook the importance of acknowledging the integral role that women play. Prioritising their mental well-being is imperative for fostering balance and promoting productivity and innovation.

As a speaker at this event, I am honoured to be a part of the conversation and to join a global network of individuals committed to positive change. This event provides a unique opportunity to connect and collaborate on topics such as science and innovation, and to foster a more inclusive society.
