Soulcare in 5: Episode 2 with Philomène Cauchois

Welcome to episode 2 of the podcast, where I welcome the wonderful Philomène Cauchois!

Meet Philomène, a slow living enthusiast navigating the delicate dance of family, career, and the pursuit of a healthy, eco-conscious lifestyle. Currently residing on a small renovated farm in rural Brittany with her family, Philomène's journey has been a tapestry of experiences that resonate with the challenges faced by a busy woman like yourself.

Originally from France, Philomène's academic pursuits led her to England, where her eyes were opened to the possibility of an alternative lifestyle during her university years in Bristol. At the age of 22, she began embracing budget-friendly shopping at local markets and exploring associative and alternative spaces, marking the beginning of her awareness of a different world.

The subsequent eight years were a whirlwind, navigating the hustle and bustle of busy capitals like London and Paris. Amidst stressful jobs and a hectic lifestyle, she struggled to find the perfect balance she yearned for herself and her growing family.

With the arrival of a newborn, Philomène embarked on a transformative five-year journey in Berkeley, California. Immersed in a city at the forefront of ecology, wellbeing, and alternative resources, she encountered inspiring individuals and delved into practices like minimizing waste, reducing meat consumption, and fostering conscious relationships.

Since her return to Brittany, France, in 2017, Philomène has been dedicated to living and consuming more mindfully, striving to minimize her environmental impact. She actively influences and cares for her community while prioritising self-care.

Delving into permaculture and continuing her education in subjects like herbalism, fermentation, pottery, and embroidery, the past six years have been a testament to Philomène's commitment to continuous learning and practical application.

Believing in the importance of sharing knowledge and supporting others on their journeys, Philomène has created a membership to help women transform their daily lives and perspectives. Her mission is to show and equip members to lead fun, sustainable, and creative lives where they can thrive and feel whole.

A key focus for Philomène is emphasizing the significance of self-care, to be more present for family, community, and the earth. She firmly believes that a well-nurtured person can have a beautiful and powerful impact on the world.

In this episode, Philomène discusses various ways to deeply nourish the mind, body, and soul. She highlights the importance of getting to know oneself and has prepared a free guide with clear tips and easy actions to help you explore what brings you rest and restoration.

Every woman deserves to be taken care of, and Philomène hopes this easy-to-follow leaflet will provide you with the right tools to begin a life changing-journey where you prioritize taking care of yourself.
